1966 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL SEDAN, This "Suicide" door Lincoln has the famous rear-hinged rear doors. The car has been totally restored and painted in the original Dark Greem Metallic color as built, only with a modern base coat-clear coat. All body and paint work was done professionally from the metal up (see website photos). Original style, new black vinyl top. Excellent new green/black interior!! This cars body & paint is better than new. The paint job is flawless without a ripple and as reflective as a mirror. All trim ir original, but looks great. Full power of all accessories and everything operates as original. 462 CID Engine and transmission have also been rebuilt with less than 5000 miles since completed.

This is an exceptional car and I have been the owner for the last 15 years, it has always been garaged and covered since restoration started. I just do not have time to get it out and drive it. I had it out twice in 2009, and zero times in 2007 or 2008. No disappointments here! The cost is 1/2 of what it would cost you to have one of these great Lincolns restored to this condition.

I am willing to ship vehicle, at your expense, once it is paid for in full. You will have to arrange for shipping, but I will assist as I can.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • A/C does not blow cold air, have never had it checked since I prefer to cruise with windows open. Compressor spins freely, but may need freon.
  • Radio - Stock AM radio does not work well, may need new dash speaker. I installed AM/FM stereo under dash and use that instead.
  • Window whiskers - could use to be replaced, have never taken time to find replacements.
  • Vent window rubbers - could use to be replaced, have never taken time to find replacements.
  • Small driver side rear-door garage ding. (happened in garage one winter, see detailed photos, does not go to metal, only to primer)
  • Small rear quarter sheet metal 'pop'.(also happened over winter in my garage) I believe qualified body shop can 'pop' this out very easily. I am not willing to attempt it myself. I am willing to have body shop look at it and 'pop' it at my expense. I prefer to show potential buyer all flaws, and not try to fix or cover up without them knowing. (See detailed photos).
  • Steering wheel cracks. Same shrinkage issue that many 45 year old vehicles have. It has been this way since I have had car, I just use steerting wheel cover over it.
  • Dash Speaker grill crack. Crack where dash speaker grill is located. (see detailed photos). I just place my Beany Shark over it, after all this is a 'Land Yacht'... so it works.
  • In Dash Horn ring does not work. Horns work through external button hidden on lower dash
  • Jack Mounting - I have original jack for trunk, but have never mounted it.

Any & all extra parts, rubber, manuals, etc that I have come with vehicle.

Car also comes with 'Battery Protector' device. Remote keyfob will completely disconnect battery from car, disabling all vehicle electric. Car cannot be started and battery will not drain with doors open. Great anti-theft device, and protects against accidental battery drain.
